About Institution

Progress of the Institution:

• 1. The School has started on 14-2-2020 with a modest number of Children due to Covid-19.
• 2. It is a Residential School
• 3. We have already informed the Education Department, Government of Meghalaya about the beginning of this new budding Institution.
• 4. We have been told that soon after 3 Academic Years are over, the Department of Education will recognize our Institution.
• 5. We are intending to apply for the CBSE Scheme as soon as we gain eligibility
• 6. Already one Girls’ Hostel Building sponsored entirely by Infosys Foundation is about to be completed.
• 7. One Academic Building meant for College, at a later Stage is under construction raising public fund.
• 8. Three Hostels – one for Girls and Two for Boys are needed.
• 9. One Building meant for School is required.

Objectives and Justification for the Project:

• 1. To cater educational requirements of the Tribal Children of East Jaintia Hills  District
• 2. We are intending to spread the academic excellence to other parts of Meghalaya also which is having 11 districts.
• 3. Our pious spectrum of vision encompasses to other neighboring States of North East region like Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.
• 4. It is our aspiration to help Children of the poor Families of the Locality and they comprise our target group.
• 5. We are aspiring to open Courses on Higher Education as well as few Short- term Certificate Courses like Bamboo Cultivation, Inland Fisheries, Horticulture, Floriculture, Forestry etc. Thus, we like to expand the base of self-employment and Employment Opportunity.
• 6. In order to accommodate students hailing from other parts of Meghalaya and neighbouring States, Boys Hostel as well as Academic Building are needed.

Local Participation:

We are pleased to mention that the local participation is quite appreciable. They do take keen interest in the School activities as Locals and parents. They have participated in our various programmes like Seminar on Bamboo Cultivation, the ‘Shramadan’ for Thousand Trees Park, School Inauguration, Independence Day Celebration etc.

Timely Monitoring and Report:

The systematic progress of Project implementation will be monitored by the Saraswati Education and Welfare Trust and comprehensive reporting will be made accordingly. This Project of Boys Hostel and the School Building will rightly be deemed as very useful academic milestone of the entire regional progress. The Trust is ready to enter into MOU with the Company. We will abide all the legal stipulation and extend cordial invitation to the Administrative Personnel to visit our serene Academic Campus.

Target Population:

The Trust is visualizing to enroll students hailing from the district of East Jaintia in particular and all other Ten Districts of Meghalaya State in general. We do aspire to admit Tribal students hailing from all the other North Eastern State like; Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Sikkim with maximum feasible concession. Special emphasis will be given for the Education of the Girl Child
This Residential school is going to have well-furnished Hostels for Boys and Girls. As such Children of different rural Tribal areas too can avail the opportunities to have sound academic career along with co-curricular activities like sports, games gymnasium etc. Conveyance facilities will be arranged to bring the Children from the neighboring Tribal Villages. The Trust is endeavoring to cater the value based education with nationalistic fervour. Moreover, it is our pious visionary mission to provide qualitative education at an affordable scale and if possible free education to all the deserving students based on poverty cum merit. More importance will be attached for Girls’ Education, Women Empowerment and to have qualitative human resources.

Necessity and Relevance of the Project :

• Our new School Building and Boys Hostel are to be built in the rural area of Kongong in East Jaintia Hills District. As such they are expected to cater the basic needs of education to the Rural as well as Tribal Children.
• It is our sincere endeavour of the Trust to provide quality education blended with humane and national fervor.
• We do cherish the noble aspiration to train the Children as the future Sportsmen, Defence personnel, Entrepreneurs, Agriculturists etc.
•  As such we intend to usher national progress and train the Children of the Tribal Region as the befitting Citizens of tomorrows. A good number of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities will be conducted to achieve this visionary standard with missionary zeal.
